What is conveyancing?
Conveyancing is the legal process of transferring ownership of a property from the seller to a buyer.
During this process, your conveyancer will carry out searches, highlight any issues, draw up contracts, transfer funds and ensure that all legal requirements are met.
If you’re looking for a conveyancer to help you with your property purchase or remortgage and you’re not sure where to start, your L&C adviser can recommend one when they’re organising your mortgage. Not every solicitor can work with every lender, but we’ll ensure that the solicitor that’s recommended to you is able to work directly with the lender you’re using
Why use our conveyancing service?
We've handpicked leading residential property solicitors and conveyancers across the UK to provide you with the expert legal support you need to buy a property.
Our chosen partners prioritise customer care and offer a high quality service at competitive rates, and specialise in a range of property types including New Build and leasehold homes. We also ensure that anyone we recommend can work directly with your lender, preventing potential delays in the future.
Our conveyancing partners
All our legal partners operate on a fixed-price basis, so there won’t be any hidden costs. If completion doesn’t take place, you won't be charged.
You’ll also benefit from added protection with L&C’s FREE buyers protection insurance, which is included in your conveyancing package. This covers up to £1,050 for various expenses, such as valuation fees and legal searches, in the event your mortgage cannot proceed. This may happen, for example, because the property has been down-valued or withdrawn from sale by the seller.
