Interview tips & advice
If we think you might be suitable for a position at L&C we’ll give you a call and ask you to come in for an interview. This is your chance to tell us about your work experience and why you want to work for us. Here are some hints and tips to help you ace your interview.
Prepare and practise
Research some typical questions interviewers might ask and practise answering them. Think of real examples from your own work experience that emphasise your skills and are relevant to the position you’ve applied for.
Do your research
Get to know L&C and show us what you know about the company. Take a look at our website and social media accounts or search for L&C in online news. Do you know anyone who works at L&C? Ask them what it’s like to work here.
Get ready ahead of time
Plan your outfit for the interview carefully and always think smart before casual. Make sure you’re not in a rush by planning your journey before the interview.
Be on time
Take into consideration the time of your interview so you can adjust for any possible traffic. If need be, check the location of the interview the day before so you know exactly where you are going and how long it will take.
First impressions count!
Be confident, maintain eye contact, offer a good handshake and try to relax.
Stay calm and focused
Listen carefully to every question the interviewer asks and don’t forget to provide the pre-prepared examples of when you’ve used your skills or experience. Take your time to think before you answer.
Ask questions
This is your moment to get to know the company better and what the job is like. Prepare some questions the day before the interview and show us your interest in joining L&C.
Follow-up after the interview
Follow up with a thank you email shortly after the interview emphasising your interest in the position. If you remember anything you forgot to say in the interview that you think is relevant, you could add it here.
Most importantly try to relax and be yourself! We’re not going to try and trip you up, we just want to know more about you, what makes you tick and what skills you have.
