How to get your CV noticed
Your CV is your chance to show L&C who you are and to make a great first impression. Take a look at our hints and tips so your CV is polished and perfect before you send it to us.
- Keep it short and sweet - ideally CVs shouldn’t be longer than two sides of A4.
- Don't forget to include your name, email, contact phone number and address at the top of your CV.
- Add a personal statement after your contact details so we can get an idea of who you are and why you’d be right for the position in one short paragraph.
- Next you should add your experience and employment. This section should include your relevant work experience, listed with the most recent first. Include your job title, the name of the company, time in post and your key responsibilities. Show off your strengths, relevant skills and achievements.
- You should also include your education, along with dates, the type of qualification and/or the grade you achieved.
- If you have relevant hobbies outside work you may want to mention them as they could help you to stand out from the crowd.
- Check and double check: avoid errors, take a fresh look the next day and ask a friend for a second opinion.
Remember, we are a regulated company and will carry out referencing checks on all successful candidates which may include checks on qualifications, so please make sure that the information supplied is accurate and up-to-date.
